November 20, 2009

On behalf of the managing team of the GOA Sports Club, I would like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to the community and friends for their support in our fund raising event, the Easter Bunny Hop.

The Sports Club has successfully concluded its second year of fostering sports activities such as field hockey and soccer along with our annual badminton festival.

Our hockey and soccer season was from April 1/2009 to August 31/2009 with all games being played at Minoru Turf from 7-8 pm on Fridays. Attendance was excellent with players enjoying the camaraderie and friendship of each other. It was most encouraging to see the participation from the youth.

It is our sincere hope that we can build on the current program and attract more Youth and Adults to join the activities of the GOA Sports Club. The long-term plan is as follows:

  • Encourage the participation of our community in sporting activities
  • Develop a sustainable Youth program
  • Play friendly matches, field hockey, soccer and badminton against other teams
  • A proposed sport’s visit to either Edmonton or Calgary or a visit from either Associations in 2010

Thank you all once again
