The Crispin Sequeira Community Service Award is presented annually to a member who is recognized as an outstanding volunteer in the Association.
Cleto dos Remedios, Founder Member is the recipient of the 2009 Award for his outstanding services (too many to enumerate here) rendered to the GOA Vancouver since it’s inception, his involvement in the community with helping immigrant families, his continuous fund raising efforts, for an unstinted 30-odd years.
Cleto has extended exceptional and selfless assistance and has been an excellent role model for the Goan community at large.
It is with deep gratitude and great pleasure that the Executive Committee is bestowing Cleto with this service award and looks forward to his continued moral support, counsel and guidance in the years to come.
The Crispin Sequeira Community Service Award will be retired this year and it is but fitting that the award has found a home with one of our founder members. Details on the format and criteria for the new GOA Community Service Award will be announced shortly.
It's not often that a GOA member, and a past president at that, wins a nomination
for the highest elected office in the Province!
We wish Dileep Athaide our congratulations and the very best of success in his quest for office. We
hope that his ground breaking candidacy, will be an inspiration to others in the community, regardless
of political stripe, to follow suit.
