Our parents are from Goa, however, Fidelis and I were both born and grew up in Karachi.
My father worked for the Pakistan Navy and my mother was the grade 7 class teacher at St. Joseph's Convent in Karachi.

GOA - Coat of Arms


The Coat of Arms in totality represents sun, sand and rhythm of soul which is the very essence of goan culture.

The various symbols that comprise the shield in the Coat of Arms are:

Church – representing the emphasises on religion.
Fish – symbolizing the authentic cuisine of Goa.
Musical notes – representing the fun loving and liveliness of goans.
Beaches – at every turn of the undulating coast are the alluring beaches offering solace to the mind.

The sunset and the ocean speaks of the geographical location of both Goa and Vancouver both being on the west coast.

The colours represent:

Green – blessed with nature.
Blue – close to the ocean
Red – symbolizing the liveliness of goans.
Yellow – the sunshine we enjoy.
